1. Introduction: what is a cookie?
When you visit our website bloodsense.ai (the “Site”), small text files called “cookies” may be stored on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone). These files are placed subject to the choices you express through our consent banner. Only the issuer of a cookie can read or modify the information it contains.
This Cookie Policy explains which cookies we use, why we use them, how long they are kept, and how you can manage your preferences at any time. It complements our Datenschutzerklärung.
BloodSense is a service of Smart Medical Care SAS, a simplified joint-stock company registered in France (RCS Nice 932 924 194), whose registered office is at 37 Avenue Maréchal Foch, 06000 Nice, France.
2. The cookies we use, and why
Strictly necessary cookies (no consent required)
These cookies are essential for the Site to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are set in response to actions you take that amount to a request for a service — for example filling in a form, or recording your cookie preferences. They do not store any directly identifying information for tracking purposes.
Legal basis: because these cookies are strictly necessary to deliver the service you request, they are exempt from prior consent under the recommendations of the French data protection authority (CNIL).
Analytics cookies (consent required)
These cookies let us understand how visitors use the Site — number of visits, pages viewed, traffic sources, navigation paths — so that we can measure and improve its performance. For this purpose we use Google Analytics. The information collected is aggregated and anonymised as far as possible, including IP address anonymisation where available.
Legal basis: your prior consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You may accept or refuse these cookies via our consent banner, and change your mind at any time.
Retention: analytics cookies are kept for a maximum of 14 months, in line with CNIL recommendations.
Advertising cookies: we do not use any
BloodSense does not use advertising, marketing or retargeting cookies. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share your browsing data with advertising networks.
3. Third-party cookies
Some cookies used on the Site are set by third parties acting as our processors.
Google Analytics (Google LLC). We use Google Analytics to measure Site traffic. Google sets and reads its own cookies to provide this service, only after you have given your consent. For details on how Google processes this data, please refer to Google’s privacy policy.
No health data is ever transmitted through analytics cookies. Your laboratory reports and the interpretations generated by our service are processed separately, on servers certified for Health Data Hosting (HDS) located in France, as described in our Datenschutzerklärung.
4. Managing your preferences
On your first visit, a banner informs you about the use of cookies and lets you make your choices. You can:
- accept all non-essential cookies;
- refuse all non-essential cookies;
- or manage your choices service by service.
Refusing analytics cookies has no effect on your ability to use the Site or our services.
Retention of your choice: your consent decision is stored for a maximum of 6 months, in line with CNIL recommendations. After that period, we will ask you again.
5. Managing cookies through your browser
You can also configure your browser to accept or reject cookies, either systematically or depending on their issuer. Each browser is configured differently; we recommend consulting your browser’s help menu to find out how to change your preferences.
Please note that if you block all cookies, including strictly necessary ones, parts of the Site may no longer work as intended.
